The Stira range of stairs

We produce a range of standard size Stira that covers the majority of houses both new and old. These are stairs that are pre-made and in stock so we can ship immediately

We have three standard ceiling heights the 8-foot (243cm), 8 foot 6 inch (259cm) and the 9-foot (274cm) each of these three heights come in a standard range of frame sizes they start with a 22 inch wide frame and go up in 2 inch increments all the way to 30 inches. Other stairs on the market have just one large stairs, which needs to be cut to the correct size. This stairs will have a much longer opening than is needed meaning you loose floor space in the attic and have an unnecessarily large hole in your ceiling.

The WrapAround hinge is just one of the features that makes the Stira so though. This hinge clamps onto and surrounds the ladder on 3 sides, this prevents the hinge from moving over time and rendering the stairs unusable. On other stairs this hinge on the first fold can move out of position due to screws coming lose as you can see in the picture this is very difficult using the WrapAround hinge as it is fixed and clamped in multiple places.

The InnerFrame adds overall stability to the Stira. This is a rigid frame that connects the ladder to the outer frame of the Stira, it's this frame that allows Stira to be so flexible with the size range and aesthetics of the Stairs. Because we use an InnerFrame and don't fix the ladder directly to the chipboard lid you can replace the standard lid with something that will allow the Stira to fit in better with it's surroundings.  
 
     
 

Many other attic stairs on the market are a one size fits all stairs, this helps keep their manufacturing costs down however it means the customer is restricted to the limitations of the stairs. One of the major disadvantages of this type of stairs becomes apparent when you cut the stairs to length after installation. You may find that one of the steps is in the way and needs to be cut through or completely removed to finish the job. Often this can’t be easily accomplished without removing the bottom section to do the work and then reattaching it.

With the Stira this is not an issue as we make a different size stairs to suit different ceiling heights, this ensures that the first will never be in the way when it comes to cutting the stairs to length. Because of our unique experience of fitting our own stairs* we have come across all these issues in the past and designed our stairs to be as quick and painless to install.
 
     
     
 
Custom builds

Only Stira can custom build stairs to your specifications. We cater for extra high ceilings and extra wide frame sizes. Ceiling heights of up to 13 foot are not a problem for Stira. No other attic stairs offers this kind of warrantee. They simply couldn’t stand behind it, but we can. Being a member of the BSI and the Guild of Master Craftsmen we have to back up our product and as we manufacture all the components ourselves we have parts available should they ever be needed.
